Dolphins: The acrobats of the sea

Dolphins are one of the most popular marine animals to spot on a sea kayaking tour. These playful creatures are known for their intelligence and social behavior. They are often seen swimming alongside kayaks, breaching the surface, and performing acrobatic feats.

One of our most memorable dolphin encounters occurred on a tour around Hout Bay. A pod of over 100 dolphins joined us for our paddle, and they put on an incredible show. They were swimming all around us, breaching the surface, and playing with each other. It was an unforgettable experience.

Southern right whales: The gentle giants

Southern right whales are another amazing marine animal that can be spotted on our sea kayaking tours. These majestic creatures are known for their gentle nature and curious behaviour. They are often seen swimming close to shore, and they sometimes approach kayaks to get a closer look.

On one of our tours, we were lucky enough to paddle alongside a southern right whale mother and her calf. The whale was incredibly calm and gentle, and the calf was playful and curious. It was an amazing experience to be so close to these magnificent creatures.

Other marine life

In addition to dolphins and southern right whales, there are many other marine animals that can be spotted on our sea kayaking tours. Other common sightings include seals, penguins, sea turtles, and a variety of fish. We've even seen the occasional sunfish, which is one of the largest fish in the world.
