Shipping kayaks directly to you
We specialise in getting kayaks and gear directly to you without using a vast and costly multi-layer network.

Stock Holding
We do our best to maintain a good selection of kayaks and colour options. Should your kayak and colour choice be one that we don't have in stock then we have a lead-time of no more than 3 weeks. We do need an additional week for all carbon kayaks.

Shipping kayaks within South Africa
This is actually very easy and painless. There are various options available to get your kayak to you quickly and safely. Johannesburg, Durban, Nelspuit and East London are regular destinations for our kayaks. If you live along the Garden Route your kayak could be at your door within 48 hrs. Feeling left out in Bloemfontein? Not a problem. Mostly we use a depot to depot service, where you collect your kayak when it arrives. The kayak is generally at the depot within 72 hrs of leaving our shop. We could also arrange that your kayak is delivered to your door. We take care of wrapping your kayak - all the kayaks shipped from our shop are double wrapped in bubblewrap.

Exporting kayaks to neighbouring counties
Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique - regular deliveries to these countries. Depending on the country and the destination it may be more cost effective for you to take your kayak across the border yourself.

Exporting kayaks to the rest of the world
We can ship your kayak anywhere you want - Europe and the Americas are only 4 days away for more costly air-freight or 4-6 weeks by affordable sea-freight, while Australia and New Zealand are about 8 weeks away by sea-freight.

On export your kayak and accessories also cost you less (our advertised price includes VAT at 14% - get the export price by dividing the including VAT price by 1.14) and goes a long way towards paying your freight charges. The costs for sea freight are actually very reasonable (a Kaskazi Skua on sea-freight will cost between R2000 and R3000 - depending on where in the world).

Obviously the price will come down the more kayaks we send at a time, until we get to a cost efficient full container. Depending on where in the world you are - it can be cheaper to fly into Cape Town, have a few days holiday, do some paddling with us, buy and collect your kayak and fly back home with it, than buying one in your hometown (especially if it is the 3-piece Kaskazi Skua).

Insurance
On all local deliveries we have an automatic R5000 insured value per shipment. Should you wish to extend this please advise us before shipping the kayak, or have your kayak added to your household insurance before we ship it to you.

This insurance is not included on international freight. Should you require insurance we advise you arrange it from your side. It is easier to arrange insurance from the receiving end. It is more difficult to have sender based based insurance which is another country and another time zone.
