| David Grier and Kaskazi tackle Madagascar |
David Grier is a celebrity chef, extreme athlete, author and inspirational speaker, best known for running 4200km along the length of the Great Wall of China, and 3300km around the South African coast, both to raise money for the Cipla Miles for Smiles Foundation. Now similarly he tackles Madagascar in a dual paddling/running marathon and has chosen Kaskazi Kayaks for the job.
Cipla Miles for Smiles Madagascar Challenge 2010 For his next charity feat, Beginning on 29 November, David will spend four months paddling 700km from Mozambique to Madagascar, then running 3000km along the length of Madagascar, before kiteboarding and paddling the 700km back again. Once again, David will be attempting these grand feats not for glory but for charity, namely the Cipla Miles for Smiles Foundation.
Cipla Miles for Smiles Foundation Cipla Miles for Smiles Foundation raises money for the fantastic efforts of Operation Smile SA, the local chapter of the international non-profit surgical organization which aims to bring smiles to the faces of children born with cleft lips and/or palates and similar facial deformities. David's previous challenges, run with long-time friend Braam Malherbe, have raised some R2.5million for Operation Smile SA and changed hundreds of lives.
